Today is the beginning of my third week on a friut diet, and it’s going really well!! Actually, it started as a detox diet in the first week and that was pretty tough, (no caffine allowed and therefore no energy and plenty of headaches). From the eighth or ninth day the headaches dissapeared and now I’m caffine free, and feeling quite good to know that the addiction is now out of the way.
Tips on being caffine free:
1. A few headaches and a lack of energy might not sound like a big deal, but I’m so glad I did this on a long weekend, as you can actually feel ill while your body’s detoxing itself. For me personally, the caffine was the big one. I needed that time to sleep and let my body adjust to functioning without the caffine. So if possible, do this with a bit of time off work, or at least over the weekend.
2. Read the lables of any headache tablets you may wish to take as they can contain caffine. Also, if it’s your goal to detox from all toxins as opposed to just being caffine free, you may want to skip the tablets and try to sleep through it.
3. Help your body flush itself and get rid of toxins by drinking plenty of water.
4. Stay strong and stick with it! It took me quite a while to feel better, but some people only have withdrawal symptoms for a couple of days. Your body will thank you.
